‘Paris-Roubaix’ // Linocut print
In celebration of pro cycling and for the love of the bicycle in general, I’m going to make 5 velo-inspired linocuts in March 2016. They are going to be featured on www.bikers-united.com in the #BikeArt section. Every wednesday I’ll be releasing a new one. I’m going to do my best to illustrate different sides of cycling and explore different styles of portraying images via linocut print.
This is the second print and it is called ‘Paris-Roubaix’. Paris-Roubaix is one of the ‘Five Monuments of Cycling’, one of the five Spring Classics every cycling enthusiast relishes. Paris-Roubaix is one of the oldest bike races in history, the first episode was in 1896! ‘The Hell of the North’ speaks tot the imagination because of it’s many cobbled sectors, which I portrayed in my print.
Image size is approximately 18cm x 30cm // 7″ x 11.8″
Paper size is approximately 23cm x 35cm // 9″ x 13.7″
I’ve made an edition of 15 linocut prints, available for purchase at the Shop section.
