Crowdfunding for PISCES

May 14, 2017 by Sue van Gageldonk Leave a Comment

I’ve been asked to design a linocut print for the crowdfunding campaign of PISCES, these are light emitting devices that attract the fish fishermen mean to catch and repel the ones they don’t. When it’s attached to the trawler’s nets, bycatch can be reduced by up to 90%. I’d love to see those 1 out of 5 fish that are discarded as bycatch, still swimming around in the ocean.

Happy to be on board with this project, and with £50 you could back the campaign and get this print!

Yesterday they launched the campaign, more info to read here: https://igg.me/at/Pisces

Instagram post 2150130085458592214_3747184 The start of autumn marks the start of the nights drawing in and the clocks going back. Every cyclist knows the feeling of sudden darkness setting in, and racing home in the last rays of light. Be careful out there!! ‘When Dusk Descends’ is printed on 28cm x 38cm Somerset paper, edition of 33, and available on my Etsy 🍁

Instagram post 2129917637770174179_3747184 Hola! A message to inform you that this granny is going back to school as of now.
I will be trying to get my degree in education at the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts.
Soo in the next two years I will probably have a little bit less time to make loads of new linocuts, and invest more time in my development as an all-round artist, and learning didactics. But I will have access to a very great printmaking workshop, I hope to make use of it for some etching action and silkscreen printing.
I’ll take you on my journey 🦒

Instagram post 2096456765248899020_3747184 While my brain is melting in a heat wave I tried to think of a new registration system I could make myself. Ended up using a perforator, some cardboard, and parts of an old perforator. Let’s see if this works tomorrow when I print the second layer 🤓
